Low MOQ custom packaging is custom-printed boxes and cartons produced in small minimum order quantities — starting at 50 units at Get Custom Box. It lets startups, eCommerce brands and product launches order fully custom printed packaging without the 5,000–10,000 unit minimums common in the industry. You get your own dimensions, board, print and finish at a quantity that matches real demand.

What does low MOQ mean for custom packaging?

MOQ stands for minimum order quantity — the smallest number of units a manufacturer will produce in one run. Low MOQ custom packaging means that minimum is set low enough for small brands to reach. Our low MOQ starts at 50 custom printed boxes, compared to the thousands most manufacturers require. Low MOQ is made economical by digital printing, which has no plate or setup costs, so a 100-box run costs a fraction of what it would on offset tooling.

Minimum order quantities by packaging format

Our low MOQ starts at 50 units across every format we manufacture. There is no surcharge for ordering the minimum — the per-unit price simply improves as quantity rises.

Custom sizing & artwork support

Every order is produced to your exact interior dimensions — there are no fixed sizes and no upcharge for an unusual footprint. Send length, width and height in inches or millimetres, or send the product and we measure and specify it for you. Tooling (the die) is created once and reused free on every repeat order.

Artwork support is free. Send print-ready files (PDF, AI, PSD) or a rough concept and our design team builds a print-ready dieline and layout. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, AI, PSD and ZIP on the quote form.

Sample & proofing process

  • Free dieline engineered to your exact dimensions
  • 3D digital proof showing every panel, finish and placement
  • Free revisions until the layout is exactly right
  • Optional printed digital sample to test fit and colour before the full run
  • Nothing prints until you approve the proof

Production timelines & shipping

Standard production is 8–12 business days after artwork approval, with a 5-day rush lane for launch deadlines (subject to confirmation on your quote). We ship from our North Carolina facility to brands across the United States and Canada, and worldwide. Lead times and freight are itemised on every quote — we state honest timelines, including when a deadline is not realistic.

How pricing works (quantity & specifications)

Unit price depends on five factors: size, board material, print coverage, finishing, and quantity. There is no fixed price list and no instant automated quote — a specialist builds an itemised quote from your specifications, usually within one business day.

  • Digital printing keeps the 50–750 unit range economical (no plate costs)
  • Above ~1,000 units, offset volume pricing lowers the per-unit cost
  • Heavier board, foil and spot UV add to cost; plain kraft keeps it lowest
  • Right-sizing to your product lowers total landed cost vs stock boxes + void fill
  • Every quote is itemised — you see exactly what each choice costs

Who low MOQ custom packaging is for

Startups & product launches

Launch with 50–250 fully branded boxes instead of committing to wholesale volume before a single sale. Test the design, gather feedback, then reorder what demand justifies.

eCommerce & DTC brands

Right-sized mailers cut dimensional-weight charges and damage replacements while turning every parcel into a branded unboxing moment your customer photographs.

Subscription boxes

Order a low MOQ first run to validate fit and artwork with real subscribers, then scale to monthly volume once the format is proven — without changing supplier.

Growing brands & rebrands

Refresh artwork or test a new product line without writing off thousands of units of old stock. Low MOQ lets you iterate on real packaging, not renders.

Small runs vs larger-volume production

Low MOQ is not a different product — it is the same packaging run at a smaller quantity. The board, print and quality inspection are identical whether you order 50 or 50,000. The only difference is the print method that is most cost-effective at your quantity, and the per-unit price.

We quote both methods and recommend the switch to offset only when it saves you money. Tooling is stored and reused free, so the transition is seamless. Read the Custom Packaging Cost Guide for detail.
