The clock starts at proof approval
The single most misunderstood fact about rush production is that the clock starts at digital proof approval, not at first contact. Every hour between the first email and an approved proof is time the production window has not started counting. A fast proof approval is the quickest lever in your control.
What makes a rush possible
- Print-ready or near-ready artwork
- Exact dimensions and a firm quantity
- Approved material direction
- Fast digital proof approval
- A standard structure rather than a complex custom build
What slows it down
Undecided sizing, artwork that still needs design work, specialty finishes like foil or soft-touch, and very high volumes all add time. None of these rule out a rush, but they shape what is realistic. We say so up front instead of promising a date we would miss. Standard production is 8–12 business days; a rush lane delivers in about 5 business days for qualified jobs.
