The most regulated box on the shelf
Smokeable products — hemp, CBD and state-legal cannabis — carry more mandatory packaging requirements than almost any consumer category: child-resistant closures, opacity rules in some states, potency and THC content, batch and harvest data, and warning statements sized to statute. The design work is laying all of that out without the box reading like a hazard label.
What the box must carry
- Potency and net weight per unit and package
- Batch or harvest ID with traceability
- Required warnings at the statute-mandated size
- Child-resistant closure or exit-bag pairing where required
- QR or code linking to COA results
- Responsible-state language — rules differ by state, and the panel must match the market
Low MOQ for hemp and smokeable startups
State rules and label requirements change — the most expensive mistake in this category is a 10,000-unit run printed to last year’s regulation. A low MOQ of 50 boxes lets a hemp brand launch compliant, revise the panel when rules move, and scale to volume only when the format is stable.
