A PR box has one job
A PR box exists to make a journalist, reviewer or creator post about your product. It is not a gift basket. Every item in it should either get used on camera or make the story easier to tell. If an item does neither, it is filler that dilutes the unboxing.
The 12-point checklist
- Product, seated in a fitted insert so it arrives perfect
- A one-page card: what it is, why it matters, one proof point
- Founder note — handwritten beats printed every time
- QR code to a press page with assets and hi-res photos
- Spec card with the three numbers reviewers always ask for
- Nothing fragile that dies in a mailroom
- A box that photographs well under a ring light
- Inside print — the reveal moment creators film
- Right-sized: no avalanche of void fill on camera
- Tear strip so opening is one clean motion
- Contact card with a real human’s name
- A reorder path if they love it
Send fewer, better boxes
Fifty well-targeted PR boxes outperform five hundred sprayed at a media list. With a low MOQ of 50 units, you can build a tier-one seeding list, produce exactly that many premium kits, and track which ones converted to coverage before spending on tier two.
